Complete?
Well, my time is up, I put in 3.5 hours of development for the "3 hour" TriJam. Sfter all the planning and even though the game is not completed I've gotten a better grip on Unity and some of it's addons like BetterUI and Achimatix. Initially had a good plan and a good outline and I don't think I would have even gotten this much done without doing so, it's been an interesting experience for the TriJam. I'm just glad I was able to get a game running using Unity with the whole game blocked out and at least some of the basic functionality within that time frame. This is definitely good practice on becoming more efficient in game design and development.
A few take aways from this Jam I would say I think the planning and outline were very important to have so it's really great the TriJam set those scopes, it is very true to the phylosophy. I think there could be better organization with the assests, building 3D models in Blender and having to port them over and building scenes can be quite a task on its own, it left me with very little time to program. I think for these kind of Jams it would just be best to use avialable graphics and assets and spend most of that time programing the mechanics of the game, that way there's something playable in the end.
Look forwards to more Jams!
